What a fantastic term we have had. It is hard to believe it is already Easter and we look forward to the summer term.
As you will be aware over the coming weeks Mr Wake will be looking after the school as I go to help another school. I will be in at least one day a week and Mr Wake will be in regular contact. Mrs Morgan-Huws will also be around to help too. We have a terrific staff and great team and I know the school will be in safe hands whilst I’m away.
On the 4th April work starts on the refurbishment of the Downside site. This is an immensely exciting time for the school and I am personally looking forward to the opportunities our relocation will bring to us. We will endeavour to update you on its progress and there will be opportunities to visit the site when near completion. We will also update you on our arrangements for September as the building work may have an impact on this.
Sports day: We have decided that due to not being able to use Downside over the summer that we will not hold a Sports day before the summer holidays. We are instead going to hold it in September when we move. Year 6 will have their own sports day in July with more details to follow.
I would like to wish Miss Peto our student teacher in Year 4 a fond farewell as she embarks upon her teaching career and thank her for the effort and support she has put into our school whilst she has been here. Mrs Miles will be returning in Year 3 and we welcome Miss Brackstone (student teacher) into Year 1.
Have a lovely holiday and don’t forget the children return on Tuesday 12th April.
Mr Mark Snow
