Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are probably aware from coverage in the national media, schools are currently facing budget shortfalls and increasing financial pressures due to rising costs and falling income, and unfortunately Barton is among them.

In order to continue to provide additional activities we have had to come to the tough decision to start to charge for some activities, and to increase our charges for Nursery & After School Care, from September 2017.

Breakfast Club – From September 2017 Breakfast Club will be charged at £1 per week, (same cost for 1 day or 5 days per week).

After School Sports Clubs – From September 2017 After School Sports Clubs (eg. Multiskills, Football etc) will be charged at £5 per half term, payable in advance.

Nursery – From September 2017 additional morning sessions, over your allocated free sessions, will be charged at £8.75 per session. The lunch hour will cost £3.50.

If you believe you are entitled to 30 hours funded child care please go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to register.

After School Club – From September 2017 this will be charged at £5.75 per session.

Guitar Lessons – The school is unable to continue to subsidise peripatetic music lessons. The lessons will continue to be held in school, however all lessons will need to be booked directly with the music teacher.

We are disappointed that we are having to make these changes, but we are sure that parents will support us as we navigate the tough financial times ahead and agree that the costs still represent excellent value for money.

Mr Mark Snow
