Welcome back. I hope you all had a wonderful summer break? It was great to welcome the children into school on Wednesday, they all looked so smart in their new uniform. It has been really lovely hearing about their holiday adventures. I would like to welcome all our new pupils into our school and a number of new staff. I know they will all love being part of Barton Primary School.
As a school we need to ensure that attendance and lateness is monitored carefully. On the whole most pupils have excellent attendance. Any time missed at school has a negative impact on your childs’ learning. You will be challenged about lateness and poor attendance as we have a legal duty to do so.
The pupils look great in their uniform. As a parent I completely understand the challenge this can present us. However it is a school requirement that pupils wear the school jumper with the logo. In addition, pupils in KS2 must wear a tie. I would also urge that pupils have the correct PE kit. We will be following up with parents any pupils that do not come to school with this. If you have any specific issues with this please contact the school.
The school year brings with it a few changes and exciting opportunities. Over the next year, phase 2 of the refurbishment of the school will happen and we will keep you updated as this will cause some disruption.
Can I remind parents that the car park is for staff only. As many of you will have seen it is very full at all times. In addition can I ask parents not to walk through the car park for Health and Safety reasons.
I would also like to inform you that as of Monday I will be out of school to have a knee operation. I will return when the doctors says I can, but it is looking like a few weeks recovery. Mr Wake will act in my place in that period with Mrs Meredith supporting him. I will be in regular contact with school and will return as soon as I can
I am really looking forward to the year ahead and I know the staff are too.
