Exciting news for home reading!
To support your child with reading at home, we have subscribed to the Oxford Owl eBook Library giving access to more than 500 ebooks for use across the age range from Reception to Year 6.
Over the next week or so, your child’s teacher will be in touch with details of how to log in to the library and what your child will be expected to do to ensure that they continue to develop their reading skills whilst learning at home.
Please see the leaflet for more information. If you have any further questions, please contact the class teacher in the usual way.
What have Puckpool class been doing so far?
On Wednesday we had some super exciting news as one of our ducklings has successfully hatched! We have named him Chet. He is a Runner Duck. Hopefully he may have another friend soon!
In Reception we are incubating some duck eggs. We will be finding out all about the life cycle of ducks and how things change as they grow. Hopefully we will have some ducklings soon!
Red Nose Day races
Reception Class took part in Egg and Spoon races as part of the Red Nose Day fun activities this year.
In Reception, the children have been celebrating Chinese New Year by making Chinese Lanterns, Chinese dragon Puppets and Chinese rattle drums.
In Reception, we have been continuing our space theme. We have had lots of fun making and launching our own rockets. We really enjoyed eating the fruit kebabs that we made and tried lots of different kinds of fruit. This week, we have also been learning about shapes.
January 2021 – In reception we have been learning all about Space. We have made the planets out of paper mache and painted them as well as making aliens out of paper plates. In the week we went on an ice walk which everyone really enjoyed!
